Appointments

Passport services are by appointment only during designated hours. Each applicant must have a separate appointment, including those who need a photo only. To save time and ensure your appointment goes smoothly, please review our tip sheet prior to your arrival.

New Applications

Carefully review the information for new applicants found online at: https://travel.state.gov.

Before arriving for your appointment at the Library, you will need to bring:

  1. Form DS-11, a New Passport Application, completely filled out using black ink. Do not sign it. DS-11 forms are available at the Library or online at https://travel.state.gov.
  2. Proof of U.S. Citizenship (one of the following):
    • Original birth certificate
    • Previous U.S. Passport
    • Certificate of Naturalization
    • Certificate of Citizenship
    • Consular Report of Birth Abroad
  3. Proof of Identity (one of the following):
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Valid non-driver’s ID
    • Previous U.S. Passport
    • Certificate of Naturalization
    • Certificate of Citizenship
    • Government Employee ID
    • U.S. Military ID
    • Valid foreign passport
    • Matricula Consular
  4. Passport Photo
    • Provide one photo that meets Department of State guidelines.
    • To ensure your photo meets the requirements, carefully read the information provided at https://travel.state.gov.
    • The Beekman Library also offers passport photo services for a fee of $15 per photo.

Renewals

If your old passport was ISSUED LESS THAN 15 years ago, you may renew your passport by mail. Follow instructions at https://travel.state.gov. Form DS-82, the Passport Renewal Application is available at the Library or online. The Beekman Library offers passport photo services for a fee of $15 per photo.

Fees

Passport Book Application Fee: $130 (adults)
$100 (minors under age 16)
Passport Card Application Fee: $30 (adults)
$15 (minors under age 16)
Execution Fee (Library fee) $35 per application

The following are optional:
Expedited Processing Fee: $60
Return Mail (from the State Department) Fee: $19.53

Each application requires two (2) payments:

  1. The Application Fee (plus any of the optional fees above), is paid by Check or Money Order ONLY to ‘The U.S. Department of State’.
  2. The Execution Fee is paid by Cash, Check, Money Order, Debit or Credit Card to the ‘Beekman Library’.

    We highly recommend filling out your check only when you sit down with an agent, just in case.

Processing Times & Application Status

Routine: 4-6 weeks

Expedited: 2-3 weeks
