BEEKMAN BOOKENDS - June 2008

As the new Director of the Beekman Library I would like to introduce myself. My name is Carol Rodriguez and I have been a Union Vale/ Beekman resident for the past 19 years. I know many of you through Scouts, town sports, school, and church. I have lived in Dutchess County most of my life and graduated from Arlington High School as well as Dutchess Community College, Pace University and Albany University. I consider myself a true Hudson Valley Native! I am very excited to be part of the Beekman Library and am anxious to get to know all of you and how to best serve the needs of this dynamic growing community.

I hope to carry on many of the traditions established by Lee Eaton most notably the friendly small town feel of this library. I also look forward to bringing new services, programs and materials to the residents of Beekman.

Summer is a great time to visit the library since we have so many fun, interesting, and educational programs for adults and children. Please be sure to check the program calendars on our website. Our summer reading theme this year is “Catch the Reading Bug” and we hope you will.
